The development of social welfare has not received sufficient attention in Nigeria, particularly in Oyo State. Prioritizing the well-being of our citizens, my government is committed to addressing the housing needs of civil servants. We will embark on a comprehensive initiative to construct affordable new houses, available for rent at a reduced rate, with the option for civil servants to purchase the property after seven years of tenancy. This innovative approach aims to provide a practical solution to the housing challenges faced by our dedicated civil servants.
To qualify for this housing scheme, civil servants must have a minimum of ten years of employment and not yet own a house. This criterion ensures that those who have dedicated a significant portion of their professional lives to public service have the opportunity to secure a home for themselves and their families. Our goal is to create a housing program that not only addresses the immediate needs of civil servants but also promotes long-term stability and financial security.
In addition to the affordable housing initiative, my administration will explore other avenues to enhance social welfare programs, such as healthcare accessibility, education support, and community development projects. By fostering a holistic approach to social welfare, we aim to create an environment where every citizen of Oyo State can lead a dignified and fulfilling life. Join us in this endeavor to build a state that prioritizes the well-being of its residents and strives for comprehensive social development.
